"Help men of other religions to live in sincerity of heart; - and bring them into your own marvellous light."
Intercessions; Evening Prayer Thursday after Epiphany.
I guess this is the kind of text that drives those of a more traditional mindset to other prayer books and breviaries.
I enjoy using the Latin & English Monastic Diurnal myself, for various reasons. I liked to start the day with Psalm 51 for example, and I learn a bit of Latin if I want.
I learnt the Benedictus and Magnificat in Latin, and various doxologies etc. I doubt I would have known at all if I had remained with the English Divine Office.
It is amazing how the mind works at times. I do wonder what I was thinking or where I was spiritually, when I felt I needed a change and sought out my Diurnal.
But at the moment I am loving using the Divine Office again.
I think this stems from having read the Documents of Vatican II for the Year of Faith.
The wisdom and good judgement of our current Pope astounds me.
